The Vincent M. Igo School is a successful, neighborhood school with talented students, an involved parent community and a committed faculty and staff.

The Igo School staff recognizes the immense responsibility placed upon and entrusted to us to provide our students with an exceptional educational experience. Igo School has developed a tradition and culture of high expectations for both academics and behavior. It is our belief that every child can learn. The partnerships established between the students, teachers and parents enhance students’ learning. We strive to stimulate children’s intellectual curiosity and love of learning. In the process of acquiring skills and knowledge, we encourage students to ask questions, take risks and be willing to make mistakes in their quest for greater understanding. We work to create a climate based on caring relationships that communicate possibilities and hope.

The challenges facing our students in the 21st century demand problem solving, communication and teamwork in order to achieve success. Each day provides valuable opportunities for our students to learn and grow. The strength of our school depends upon the cooperation and effort of teachers and parents in the educational process.

This website has been prepared as a source of information for you and your child concerning the philosophy, policies and operational procedures of Igo School. It is important that you review its contents with your child. We hope that your joining the Igo School community will be an indication of your interest in their total development. We look forward to working with you as we strive to make a positive difference for our students, school and community.

It’s a great day for school!
